One-of-a-Kind Handmade Diversity Bags From Sue Plaster Consulting Our business is diversity education and problem-solving for organizations, and career advisory for individual clients. But once we started giving our diversity bags to thank seminar participants, we began getting requests for bags to support diversity programs in our client organizations! Each bag is its own artistic creation, often using informally appliquéd fabrics reflecting multiple aspects of diversity. Our most popular bag is the Diversity Memento Bag, a small or mid-sized bag you can use to hold cards or photos, hang on a doorknob or display in your office or cubicle space to say, “I’m Me and Nobody Else!” This bag is perfect for recognition, especially with a card or other personalized message of appreciation inside. Through our designs and messages, we do our very best to represent a full range of ethnicities, heritage areas, ages, gender perspectives, sexual orientation, and other aspects of diversity in humans and the natural world. Many of the bags contain word messages such as “Courage,” “Miracle,” and “Hope.” These messages spring from our belief that by learning more about our similarities and differences, and developing skills to bridge our differences, we can make our common work more innovative, more successful and more engaging for all.
